ACT EXECUTIVE BUSINESS DISTRICT – EBD
Awka Capital Territory (ACT) is the Capital City of Anambra State.
ACT has a rich heritage as the center of Nigeria’s metalwork, and the home of carving industries.
Why EBD Layout by ACTDA?
There are currently about 39 designated housing estates in Awka; Amawbia-15, Amansea- 8, Nibo- 6, Okpuno- 2, Mgbakwu-3, Isiagu 4 and Nawfia 1.
Many of the designated estates are yet to take off, while 8 in Amansea, 2 in Nibo, 3 in Okpuno, 1 in Mgbakwu, 4 in Isiagu and 1 in Nawfia are yet to even get off the ground.
Besides, the ones executed are far below the standard rating.
Executive Business District Layout is an area covering approximately 210 hectares of land in the Awka Capital Territory. Located within a ‘virgin area,’ the site creates the opportunity for vibrant residential mixed with economic activity for the location. But it will need to be designed sensitively within its surroundings so as not to negatively impact on the current setting. The development will need to relate well to this natural environment and reflect their layout and built form to ensure an environmentally friendly, socially cohesive, accessible and legible development that further enhances the area.
Executive Business District Layout is on 287600E, 690600N UTM geographic location in the area commonly known as the Executive Business District (EBD). Notable structures and complexes in this neighborhood are:
Anambra State House of Assembly
Federal High Court
State High Court
Federal and State secretariats etc.
There is also a nature reserve in the immediate vicinity containing age-old colonies of a variety of species of monkeys worthy of preservation. And there also exists a Palm Groove Reserve embedded in the layout that has been mandated by order of His Excellency Chief Willie M. Obiano, the Executive Governor of Anambra State, to be preserved and developed into a public park.
The EBD Layout is designed with the makeup of approximately 80% low density Residential Plots comprising of a mixture of duplexes (detached and semi-detached) and blocks of flats, 15% Commercial Plots and 5% Public Plots.
