The drive to ensure that the State Capital is in good form, healthy, safe for all, has been a thing of serious concern to Awka Capital Territory Development Authority.
It is on this note that ACTDA embarked on desilting drainage channels especially at inland areas of the State Capital as they includes; Obunagu road, works road, Kwata junction to court road, Amawbia junction axis, old INEC road by Regina and other drainage-sludge areas to mention a few, all within the Capital Territory.
This exercise is aimed at dislodging filth from drainage and enabling easy flow of water.
Along the line, some areas were detected to have; built structures on drainage ways, causing water to overflow on the road and into peoples’ properties; such areas were marked for removal and also serving as a note of warning to contraveners.
The safety of our lives is very paramount to existence, the Authority cautions especially, indegenes and developers, to avoid building on drainage ways; for it is dangerous, hazardous and also attracts penalty.
#Together, lets join hands to make things better for all of us.
