Delegates of the Pan African Leadership on Wednesday 22nd November, 2017, paid a courtesy visit to the MD/CEO ACTDA, to confer upon him the Pan-African Leadership Award and the Dedicated Servant of Ndigbo (DSN) meritorious Award, as a mark of excellence in service to the Ndi Anambra under the leadership of HE Chief Willie M. Obiano (Akpokuedike). The conferment team expressed happiness at the warm reception to ACTDA by the MD/CEO, describing the MD/CEO as a highly seasoned professional whom the cap of leadership in the development of the Awka Capital Territory actually fits.
Below is the award speech by the board Chairman, pan African Leadership;
AWARD SPEECH AS PRESENTED BY PAN AFRICAN LEADERSHIP BOARD CHAIRMAN, SYLVESTER IORLIAM PhD.
“For some years now, people of Anglophone countries have invented and developed their culture. This practice in early eighties contributed immensely in promoting the culture of excellence. Very attractive gifts carved by human hands really used to hold the recipients spell bound by their special inventive and imaginative skills.
After extensive consideration among the board of Directors of Pan-African Leadership and other coalitions of civil society organizations of Nigeria in their meeting years back in Abuja, it was resolved that our generation has the responsibility to revive this great cultural heritage meant for promoting hard work and excellence hitherto neglected.
In view of the above, the editorial advisory board of Pan-African Leadership in Abuja constituted a committee to select, screen and recommend some professionals, entrepreneurs, creative stars, traditional rulers and business class who contributed immensely to the socio-political and economic development of society.
Accordingly, many people were selected, but after screening, only a few exceptional of them were able to meet our board’s rating.
Considering that conferring award is not economic venture, only few people will be honored by this independent organization. This crop of rare, clearly focused, deeply patriotic, highly imaginable, purposeful, dynamic and independent personalities have been properly screened by trained analysts and found to be spotless enough to receive honor from this organization.
These distinguished personalities are men and women of integrity who believe that land mark achievements come in many forms besides sycophancy and thuggery. For them, any diplomatic and honest means of achieving political economic success is worthy of note.
Machiavelli, in his devilish and autocratic mentality, tells us that the end justifies the means, but to these gentlemen, one does not have to be a devilish schemer before achieving success. To them, goodwill and good relationships at all times is the best route to success in politics and human relations.
To many Nigerians, any major political appointment comes through cut throat lobbying, heavy expenditure and mudslinging, but history has shown that no nation has ever become great without a crop of personalities like these professionals, entrepreneurs, creative stars and business class.
For a nation to be born in the time sense of that concept, it requires, in addition to the natural material resources, statesmen and women who are committed to serve their people with a sense of mission and vision. On this note, may I therefore present Arc. Michael M. Okonkwo to the nation and enter his name into the national register of bureau of communication of the Federal republic of Nigeria as a recipient of this award.
I, Sylvester I. PhD., board chairman, Pan African Leadership, do hereby declare that by receiving this honor, you have today become a friend of this organization.
Many of you were nominated for screening by research unit of this outfit and after a good number fell short of required standard, few of you were able to meet our board rating by meeting the moral requirement and consequently listed for this award.
Accordingly, in full observance of the Pan African Leadership law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria concerning award and of the status of civil society through the authority conferred on them by the corporate affairs commission (CAC) and in the name of Pan African Leadership, we the undersigned confer upon you “Arc. Michael M. Okonkwo, Dedicated Servant of Ndigbo (DSN)” together with all the honor, rights and privileges patterning thereto; and in testimony whereof, we have signed the award and have authorized the seal of our organization to be affixed to the same at our corporate office in Abuja-Nigeria, this 22nd day of November, 2017.”
Long Live ACTDA!
Long Live Anambra State!!
Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!
Long Live the African Race!!!!
