The Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFÉ) Ambassadors paid a courtesy visit to Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) on Wednesday the first day of November, 2017.
Speaking during the visit, the leader of the group who also doubles as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Hon. Sir Tony Uche Ezekwelu, stated that the aim of their visit was to officially invite ACTDA to their 3rd anniversary of the CAFÉ initiative and to solicit support from the Authority in preparation to the anniversary which is speculated to come up on Saturday, the 4th day of November 2017, and which also doubles as Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu’s birthday.
Speaking further, Hon. Tony Uche explained that the CAFÉ was set up to help people with special needs like the motherless babies, widows and disabled people, adding that her Excellency Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano is complementing the good works and good will which Chief Willie Obiano has for Ndi Anambra.
Describing this government as a youth friendly government, Hon. Uche disclosed that the governor have empowered about 67% of youths politically while Her Excellency have also employed more than 40 youths working in CAFÉ office and still counting.
Speaking on Security and Agriculture, He also noted that the Governor have out worked his predecessor as people can now sleep peacefully in their houses without fear of kidnappers and armed robbers. More so that Anambra now cultivate rice in large scales and also export vegetables.
In response, the MD/CEO of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), Arc. Michael M. Okonkwo, expressed gratitude for their visit and promised to honor the invitation of their 3rd anniversary.
He went further to explain how that the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority was charged with accelerating infrastructural development of the Awka Capital Territory, preparing a master plan for the Capital Territory and of land use with respect to Town Planning within the Capital Territory, implementing the Awka Capital Territory Master Plan and providing infrastructural services in accordance with the master plan, among others. Adding that this government has the intention of turning Awka Capital Territory to Dubai of Africa. He also disclosed that the previous administration did structure plan, which is only a prelude of the master plan.
Speaking further, the ACTDA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) stated that Anambra State have joined the likes of Abuja, Nasarawa and Kaduna State to complete her base Map, adding that people can now sit at the comfort of their homes and Google about any particular land of their choice and see the true owner’s name without visiting Ministry of Lands Office. He also said that ACTDA is in charge of the international conference centre, the barricades along Enugu-Onitsha road etc. Adding that the governor’s good works have fetched him the numerous accolades.
The high light of the occasion was the presentation of certificate of appreciation to her Excellency through Tony Uche Ezekwelu.
